New Semester, New Me? Or Just the Same Old Wahala?✍️ By Eze Anthony

--- Every new semester begins with strong promises: > “I must attend all my lectures this time!” “No more lateness.” “I’ll study at night and avoid distractions.” But by the third or fourth day, the same excuses start creeping in: > “I slept late, I couldn’t wake up.” “The bus I entered delayed me.” “NEPA took light; I couldn’t read.” For many students in our college who live off-campus, the struggle is real. There’s house chores, noisy neighbours, transport wahala, and even poor electricity — all standing between us and those “New Me” goals. ---  The Commute Life It’s different from schools where students live in hostels. Here, we rush from home to school every morning, sometimes spending hours in traffic or struggling to get transport fare. And after lectures, we return to family duties — cooking, errands, or even helping out with younger siblings.
