As I sit quietly in the guest room of Daar Communications in Abuja, a wave of anticipation washes over me. I’m here today, not just for an interview, but for a chance to step closer to the world I’ve always dreamed of—the world of professional journalism. This voluntary internship opportunity represents more than just experience; it is a doorway into the industry that has long captured my passion and purpose.
From the early days of writing as a hobby to building my voice through blogging and interviews, journalism has grown from a childhood interest into a serious pursuit. Each article I publish, each story I tell, is a reflection of my commitment to truth, learning, and public impact. This moment—waiting to be interviewed by one of Nigeria’s most respected media institutions—feels like a turning point.
Even as I wait, I am learning. I observe. I reflect. The halls around me carry the echoes of countless broadcasts, headlines, and histories. And somewhere in those echoes, I imagine my own voice someday adding to the story—informing, educating, and inspiring.
Regardless of how today goes, I am proud to have shown up. Taking this step is a sign of growth, courage, and readiness to learn. I hope this opportunity becomes a chapter in my journey, but even if it doesn’t, it has already reaffirmed what I believe: that dreams begin to unfold the moment we pursue them with action and faith.
And today, I have taken one more step forward.
